Proverbs 31
Wow I read Proverb 31 with an open eyes and heart this time. Amy ask us to read Matt. 6:33 ALOUD "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." This spoke to my heart, above all else seek God, Put God and his ways first in my life! Be a Help Meet to your husband, a wonderful mother to your children, keep your home well, but first you need to have God and a relationship with him. "With God all things are possible."Matt. 19:26.
Amy ask us to find two scriptures that we women can use a guidelines for godly living. I found two that were also listed by Amy. Proverbs 14:1"The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish woman tears it down with her own hands." and
Titus 2:3-5 "The older woman likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored." Since I am an older woman, with young married daughters I find Titus 2:3-5 to be full of wisdom. Amy also asked to lis things about Bathsheba that stand out. 1. She wants a hard working woman. 2. One that will love and cherish her home and family. 3. And my favorite verse is Proverbs31:27, "She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness." Bathsheba loves her son and wants a woman worthy of him.
The verse Poverbs 31:27 list above is what I most would like to accomplish, I want to have a home where my husband is happy to come home to, with all things finished for the day and ready to make him feel like a King, and I want to have busy hands that are NOT idle. And last but not least, I am afraid to say I do not have one woman in my life who I would like to think of as a true Proverbs 31 woman. Religion was not a part of my family life. I was raised by my Mother who was married 6 times and drank most of my childhood. I loved her dearly, and I miss her so, but God was not a part of my life then. So here I am now at 47 searching for what God wants for me. Thank You Amy for this lovely study!
